Business Development Coordinator (Sales)

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

The Business Development Coordinator (BDC) is the key link between Hanson Silo and its prospects and customers. Using Hanson’s business roadmap plan, our BDC has the opportunity to sell our products including hog and cattle slat barns, cattle feed storage bunkers and feed handling, commercial bulk storage, Valmetal, Trioliet farm equipment, and more.

Successful Hanson Silo sales team members demonstrate tenacity, confidence, and the ability to communicate well with farmers.  They will have the strength to execute complicated project management from the first contact to final invoice.

  • Warm and cold call leads
  • Cross-sell our livestock and robotic feeding products
  • Work industry trade shows (15-20 per year)
  • Quickly quote and follow up on quotes to close deals
  • Put together sales strategies to target large accounts
  • Learn and sell various product lines
  • Meet established builders and share value proposition of using Hanson’s precast products
  • Visit livestock farms, cattle and swine owners, deliver equipment, and pull trailer
  • Keep up to date with industry news to identify opportunities
  • Provide technical and clerical support to the sales team
  • Develop skills to analyze business and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Create customer testimonials and stories
Qualifications & Skills:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Project management experience
  • Must be organized and flexible
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Must possess a valid drivers license
  • Ability to travel, on average, 1-2 overnights per week
  • Strong computer skills, preferably with G Suite and Salesforce, or the quick ability to learn
  • Have a positive attitude with a professional and friendly demeanor
  • Possess a strong work ethic and be goal-oriented
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Excellent multi-tasking abilities to manage a wide variety of responsibilities that can change daily
